It's no surprise that when Beyonce announced she was launching an activewear brand called Ivy Park that she nearly broke the internet. She's a bombshell that could model a paper bag and make it look sexy. The collection drops tomorrow at Topshop which will give us the chance to see what it looks like on the rack, but I was fortunate to get a first look.
You won't be disappointed. There is nothing to dislike about the collection. It doesn't try too hard by sticking to basic, popular shapes and a simple color palette. Even the Ivy Park typography printed on the front of tees and tanks is bold but unfussy. Decorative details like embossed lettering or sheer paneling don't overwhelm and even bold colors are carefully chosen to surprise not shock.
The bold blue tights with sheer paneling was a favorite of mine, but there's something nice about a comfortable cotton blend tee and shorts. Frankly, it's a safe and solid entry into athleisure that is sure to sell well.
